When life burns down, sometimes home is the only place left to rebuild...
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Blurb: After years chasing city dreams, Mia Williams is back in Birch Springs, Montana, a small town with a big heart and a brother who still thinks she needs watching. Freelancing from her brother’s in-law suite was supposed to be temporary, a quiet reset after the relentless pace of Boston. But when she’s pulled into helping his best friend, the last thing she expects is for her fresh start to come wrapped in soot, bedtime stories, and a firefighter’s quiet smile.
Lieutenant Jackson Reed has spent his life running toward the flames, not away from them. But when a fire destroys his home, the single father is left with nothing but his four-year-old son and the ashes of everything he’s built. Moving in with his best friend was never part of the plan, neither was leaning on Mia, the girl he once swore was off-limits.
When Jackson’s nanny has to leave town, Mia steps in to help care for Colton. What starts as an act of kindness slowly turns into something deeper. Late nights filled with quiet laughter, shared coffee in the early mornings, and a growing pull neither of them can ignore.
Kindled Hearts is a sweet, quick-burn small-town romance that delivers on charm, chemistry, and lovable characters. The cozy setting pulls you in right away, and the author does a great job creating a cast that feels warm, familiar, and easy to root for.
The romance itself is fast and fiery—perfect if you love an immediate spark. I enjoyed the connection between the leads, but I found myself wishing for a bit more build-up to the love story. A slower burn or deeper emotional lead-in would’ve made their relationship even more satisfying. The same goes for the character backstories—what is there is good, but a little extra depth would have enriched the whole experience.
Still, it’s a charming, feel-good read with a lovable couple at its center. If you’re in the mood for a small-town love story that’s warm, romantic, and goes down easy, Kindled Hearts is definitely worth picking up.
